There's a sign at the lobby stating that the winter holiday party for the imports is in one of the back rooms.

Wander convinced the rest of the staff to let him take some leftover bagels and other snack foods from the guest breakfast, and there's a small table in the middle of the room with the food.

Right on cue, Elle gasps.

"Wha... It's so pretty! I don't..." Now she's definitely turning pink. "Oh, I don't know, I -- I mean, yes, I'll wear it..." It'd be rude if she didn't. It's a present. "But... I mean, it's just too pretty." That is to say, she doesn't think she'll do it justice and it'd probably look better on someone else... but she feels awkward about just coming out and saying that.

On the bright side, at least if there's some kind of... formal event... or something... then she won't have to go spending money. She didn't bring Vera's dress. (And even if she had, it's not like she's ever actually put that on, either. Much for the same reason she's uncertain about trying this one on.)

"Too pretty? Nonsense. Every pretty girl needs a pretty dress. It is as much a benefit for the viewer as the wearer, so wear it without guilt."

Elle's blush deepens. "I... I guess... I guess so." Veronica would agree with him, she thinks. It's why Veronica likes -- Wait. He just said she's pretty.

He's just being polite, that's all. It's the thing you say for something like this. "I... um. Thank you very much."
