Who: Grainne, and everybody who saw Grainne's post and wanted to go on the exploration
What: Exploring Quadratus, specifically a nice mountain trail
When: Nov 18
Where: Out in the wilderness
Notes & Warnings: There's a mini plot involved with the exploration team, so they will be interrupted along their hike. Feel free to make a subthread for meet and greet, any CR ideas, picture ops, et ctra! I'll make a thread for the encounter where they get ambushed once you guys are done tossing things out, during when they stop to take a break.

The small expedition had been prepared for. All the items were in place for the group going, and all it took was one step into the transporter to their starting site. Grainne had made the arrangements and asked for the company, so she felt it her duty to wait and greet everyone before they headed off.

She stood nearby idly, wondering if she should take one of the heavier things to carry.

"A geiger counter? ...A radiation detector?" Grainne latched on to that one, since it seemed so odd out of the list of useful things it did. "It does seem handy if it has maps and things like that. I am a bit more old fashioned, myself... I rarely use even a basic computer."

[quixotically]

"Yup. It's pretty much required back where I'm from. Not everybody has one, though, so I'm pretty lucky." Her grin widens. A little joke, one she knows Grainne can't catch on to yet. It is, by far, pretty small in the face of all the other things Elle has been lucky with.

"It doesn't just take data on maps, either, it can make them. Which is how I have a map of our route." She nods. "Luckily, the Pip-Boy's pretty easy to use. They give the things to kids, so, I mean, it's gotta be pretty user-friendly."

"Can it make locational notes? You know, like you can write on a paper map?" Grainne asked, an small idea forming. If they found something interesting, maybe she could ask Elle to mark it on the map. It sort of made Grainne want one. "Imagine if we stumbled on some ruins out here... that would be very useful."

[quixotically]

"You bet. See, look, um." Elle flips to the larger map subscreen, which shows the layout of Blackway. There are several little icons on the map, and she taps where a cluster of them are with a finger. "These are all shops that're back in town. When I found them, I marked them on my map and put the name of the store on it. Pretty cool, huh?"
