Who: Grainne, and everybody who saw Grainne's post and wanted to go on the exploration
What: Exploring Quadratus, specifically a nice mountain trail
When: Nov 18
Where: Out in the wilderness
Notes & Warnings: There's a mini plot involved with the exploration team, so they will be interrupted along their hike. Feel free to make a subthread for meet and greet, any CR ideas, picture ops, et ctra! I'll make a thread for the encounter where they get ambushed once you guys are done tossing things out, during when they stop to take a break.

The small expedition had been prepared for. All the items were in place for the group going, and all it took was one step into the transporter to their starting site. Grainne had made the arrangements and asked for the company, so she felt it her duty to wait and greet everyone before they headed off.

She stood nearby idly, wondering if she should take one of the heavier things to carry.

"In my world, magic like that is not unheard of. And worlds I have been to has similar. Though I suppose this universe is more science than magic based..." Grainne looked thoughtful for a moment. "Well, I am glad you are excited. It's, well, the first time I have been out into the wild myself. I have been here a little while but I have kept mostly to the village. It's peaceful enough, but there is a time where your feet starts wishing to walk somewhere new." Something that she hadn't been able to do in the Tower, or even much at home because of the war.

"Magic based?" While she had to admit, the DomZ's abilities did seem a lot like magic to her, she assumed that it was due to their advanced technology rather than magic. "So magic is real where you're from?"

Grainne's words had truth. "I've always been free to explore much of the city where I lived, but none of us were allowed outside its range without special permission." She smiled. "Unless you sneaked out without them noticing. But my house was out by the sea, so I got to spend a lot of time with other animals. But still...I barely got out to ride on the ocean far from Hillys. It'll be nice being in the actual wilderness."

"Magic is real, and I likely wouldn't be here if it wasn't. It's a little complicated..." But she listened intently to Jade's story, frowning slightly when she learned of the restrictions placed on her. They reminded her all too much of the restrictions there, treated like prisoners.

Hmm, that might be why Grainne wanted to go so much...

"To be restricted, I know what that is like. I grew up when the world was wild and free and thinking about not being able to walk anywhere I pleased, it's very saddening... I hope you enjoy that feeling. It is one of the best in life. I am sure the wilds of Quadratus will be no different in that regard."

She doubted that Grainne would be able to explain just how magic worked in her world in the short time before they left for the expedition. Elle's explanations of what her world was like took a while, and they easily understood each other's technology.

Her world sounded like a wonderful place to live. "You lived in a forest or what? I wouldn't really call most towns being in 'the wild' or anything."
