EDIT: It can be noted that, once exposed to sunlight, the skeleton archers start to deteriorate. This can be discovered in the course of the threads.

"I'm not sure. There are things that come in from the outside, but there's no ship these coulda come in on."

That part was pretty concerning. He popped out a glowing clip on whatever ray gun that was and slammed in a new one. "Somethin' damn weird is goin' on. They don't seem very smart."

"They do not seem alive." Grainne watched the ray gun in fascination, as she personally had never seen anything that constituted "sci fi" in her world except brief glimpses on television. "It almost feels like necromancy to me, yet I do not sense a magus behind it. If I did not know any better, I would say someone got a pouch of dragon's teeth."

"Dragon's teeth?" He asked in confusion, not adding more onto that. Just seeing if she'd explain. In the meantime he darted forward, grabbing a kid and dragging it by the shirt collar out of the way.

He noticed as one of the skeletal figures came into the sunlight it started to lightly smoke. He hoped that was a good sign and not more trouble.

"A Greek legend." Grainne noticed the smoking and grew contemplative. She followed along behind him, sending an ice crystal at the skeleton to knock it farther into the sunlight. "Cast the dragon's teeth to the ground. Wherever one falls, an undead warrior rises up from the ground.

For being a relatively short, petite looking girl, she seemed particularly unperturbed by the presence of the skeleton army. Battling armies of relentless undead was starting to become just another Tuesday for her.

"Do you have an extra of those... guns?"

"I know a little about the legend but I was hoping it was a thing so that I could figure out whose ass to kick here. I don't know where these are comin' from."

He didn't judge her on her size- if she was getting the job done, that was good enough for him. Only he couldn't come armed to the teeth like he'd prefer.

"Not another blaster, no. I just got the icer." Which would result in frozen skeletons just hanging out.

"Maybe there is. I would help in finding the source, but there's too many people in danger." Grainne sent out a few more spikes, the satisfying rattle of bones clinking against them. "Icer? A freezing gun?" If so, she could do something with that...

I did not get a notif.

Kay had to consider it. It was a quick consideration, mind you, 'cause he really didn't like handing off guns to just anybody. In general it was stupid and irresponsible. But the icer was pretty easy- he'd feel like shit if it hit a bystander.

"Don't fire it if the creep's anywhere near a living person," he ordered, hoping it wouldn't be one of the myriad of regrets in his life. He reached into his ankle holster, snagged it, and clicked on the icer.

"Point and shoot. It's pretty simple. There's no kick to it."

"I understand. They would be rather difficult to defrost." Grainne nodded, taking his advice seriously, and gave herself a second to get familiar with the gun. She knew about guns, of course, but her skills hadn't really covered how to use one properly... but if he said it was that simple, it would be no problem for her to handle it, but even just a few kills with it would be enough to help her conserve her energy in case this dragged on.

She kept an eye out for a lone skeleton to test the icer on, her water spheres still at ready in case they were needed. When she saw one, she took a quick look around it to make sure there were no other targets, and pulled the trigger.

The creature froze, as warned, solid as if it was dipped in liquid hydrogen. trails of elaborate ice traced up its arms, as it was held in mid aim with a bow. When Kay finished with his current targets, he just passed a glance at that one and threw a small rock. The skeleton crumpled into shards and collapsed in a calcified heap.

Grainne made a satisfied noise, as she had something like that in mind. With her her spheres, she would be able to cut her energy consumption in at least half if she froze them first. "Thank you. This is most useful. Do you have any idea where to go from here?"

"Not really. I just figure we should get more people into a safe area. The resort's pretty well lit- nothin's showin' up in there. We get as many people in there as we can."

That was the plan, anyway. "I also needed to find some of my patrol guys, if you see 'em. So let me know. Anyone in a uniform or one of the imported patrol."

Grainne looked at the icer, then back at him. "The Resort does seem to be the best equipped for a skeleton apocolypse..." The last time this happened, it had been pretty hectic, but she did remember some people taking refuge in well protected buildings. "Do you think we should split up? We could cover more of the town that way. I will keep a look out for the patrolmen."
