What: A special party held at the rising sun. Dorian has told no one what he's celebrating but all drinks are free as long as you come after midnight with the password. and wearing a mask "Layla" is the password

[ooc; Everyone can tag into the premade threads or make your own thread at the bottom! This is a party post thread, so thread jacking is cool unless otherwise stated. The only room locked in the club is Dorian's office. And if someone pops that lock they will find a half full goblet of blood on his desk, otherwise it is clean.

He has taken care of rides to wherever drunk people need to go too. And lastly; yes there are condoms in the rooms upstairs, if that is something you want. The Password will have be spoken on with an ad about the party a few days beforehand, it does not matter but the password is Layla. Pretty much tag around and have fun guys~! ]

[The Mojave has Lake Mead, but purified water isn't always easy to come by when you need it if you're not nearby.

He taps his fingers against his glass as he thinks.]

Well... there's Elle. She was shot in the head on a courier job and left for dead in Goodsprings, but a doctor managed to patch her up. She doesn't remember anything about her life before the shooting, and I met her pretty soon after she recovered. She's... done a lot for me. Done a lot for the Mojave, too. Then there's Veronica, she was with the Brotherhood of Steel. She really likes punching stuff, and she's good at it too. Raul is a ghoul like Charon, he's good with fixing stuff and he's always got some sarcastic comment for everything. Arcade is kinda the same way. He's a doctor, and he's pretty smart. Makes fun of me a lot, but I give as good as I get and I know he doesn't really mean it. Great at lecturing people. Used to drink a lot with Cass, and I'm pretty sure she could drink both of us under the table. She's good to have at your back when things get tough, though.

Lily's a nightkin, and she's kinda like everyone's grandma now. She used to be a part of the Master's army. Guess you wouldn't know what a nightkin is... not really sure how to explain it. Think... about ten feet tall, all muscle, blue skin. She could pick us both up in one hand and throw us across the room without breaking a sweat if she wanted to. She only kills people who deserve it, though. Elle's got this eyebot called ED-E, too. I guess it counts, since it understands us and beeps back. I can't understand it, but Elle can. And then there's Rex, but you know about him.

[All in all, they're... well, one hell of a group. At least you could never say they weren't interesting.]

[Niko listens intently, and for the most part (Even the bit about Raul) he doesn't even think twice about it. Not even the woman shot in the head, because he saw some fucked up war injuries.]

[But the bit about Lily? That's when his eyebrows climb. He doesn't know who the Master is- if there's a Master, he's probably an ass, because no one goes by "Master" unless they're made of fuck, and he already has to feel kind of bad for her if she's just a grandma type. A very angry grandma type.]

I'll be sure to be very nice to you. I want your grandma to let me come over and play.

[But, joking aside, it obviously warms him some. And he smiles into his drink just a little, if thoughtfully.] You sound like you have a very good family.

I think she'd like you. She likes anyone who's nice to her and her friends. She'd probably make you sit down and eat something. She'd call you Jimmy, too. She calls everyone Jimmy. Gets a bit confusing when you gotta try to figure out who she's asking for. Jimmy was her grandkid, but... I dunno what happened to him. She gets confused a lot, sometimes thinks we're him. It's her medicine, messes with her head and makes her forget stuff.

[He nods at Niko's observation, though.]

Yeah, I have. They're all good people.

This is sad. I don't know what I would do if everyone reminded me of my brother.

I don't know. Maybe I would actually be happier. But realizing they weren't would always feel like losing him again and again.

[But he tries to shake off that sad thought. It's hard to be sad for any amount of time when you're looking at Boone looking like the military bandito.]

Yeah... she only takes half her medicine, so she can still remember her grandkids. If she took all of it, she'd forget.

[But if she didn't take it at all... well, Boone isn't sure what would happen. He only knows that "Leo" is dangerous, and Lily would probably listen to him more without medication.]

She seems okay, though. Like I said, she's sort of everyone's grandma now. We can't replace the people she's lost, and we wouldn't want to, but for now she kinda has a family again. We all do.

[He can't help but sound a little sad at the end there, and he takes another drink. He knows his friends can't replace what he's lost, as much as he cares about them. It's nice to have them around, though. That's the important part.]

[That understanding is coming in handy; he knows exactly what that sad tone was about. He looks into his own, changing the subject only faintly. But not by far.]

I had this friend, Packie. He is about your size, shaved head even. We-.... we had a lot in common.

He left Liberty City not long before I came here. I miss him. Maybe it would be too hard for us both- Kate was his sister -but he was a good guy. Good to have around. I think we could have helped each other.

[Boone doesn't blame Niko or Packie for wanting to leave it behind. Staying, well, it can be hell. He knows he never could have left Novac without knowing what happened, though. He owed Carla that much.]

He wanted to leave. He'd spent his whole life in Liberty City, wanted somewhere new. We talked about this. But after his sister is gone? There would be no reason to stay. [He messes up his tenses a little, just because he is distracted by missing his angry little friend.]

[He's kind of sad for both of them. Starting out somewhere new isn't easy. Boone has friends and a home to go back to when he feels like it, but Niko doesn't intend to go back and Packie doesn't seem to have anything to go back to.]

Think he would've come here if he knew about it?

[Maybe Niko would've been happier here with a friend from home. Or maybe starting over again really does mean leaving everyone behind.]

[How do you put drug addiction lightly to a patrol officer. He forgets sometimes, gets completely comfortable. But then he remembers sometimes that Boone is cop, and there's always a chance he could ruin things for someone.]

He has problems. He has a bad history that he deals with differently than I do mine. His ways of dealing with it? Mostly easy in my world.

He was funny, though. Sang to me once when he was drunk. He liked Walt Whitman, and he could draw. But he never showed me anything he did.

[Boone catches that Niko isn't telling him something, but he won't press him for it. It's none of his business how Niko's friend copes with things. It's not like he copes with things much better himself. He doesn't assume it's because of his job, though. He just figures Niko doesn't want to go into it.]

Sounds like he was good to have around.

[He wishes he was better at knowing how to cheer people up like that. He never has the right words, but if he could be funny sometimes maybe he would be. He's no good at that either, though. The best he can do is dry sarcasm that's very rarely intended to be amusing in the first place.]

Not the same way. But I like drinking with people that I feel okay talking to, and I like talking to you.

[Maybe he's been drinking enough that he can be a little more open with liking someone, at least. But his filters could use some work.] People that are messed up like me. Sometimes it is really good to know you're not alone.

[Well, there's no denying he's messed up. He just nods.]

[Niko understands more than anyone else Boone has ever met. He makes for a good drinking buddy even without that, but Boone thinks a lot of the reason they get on so well is simply because they both get each other.]

It's not so bad talking about things with you. It's usually... harder.

[Even though he still hasn't actually told him what happened to Carla, yet. It's easier to talk about how he feels with her gone, though. Maybe it helps that they're usually drinking when they're talking like this. He's close to emptying another glass, and when he does finish his drink he orders another one. So much for not getting too drunk here tonight.]

I guess it would be strange trying to tell all of this to a very tall blue lady who would want to baby you, even if she lost people too.

[He doesn't know if he could have done it, but then his mind drifts back to Packie's mom. He wonders whatever happened to her- she didn't have any children left to help care for her. She was all alone in her house. Maybe Packie left because she gave up, too.]

[He holds up his glass, then.]

I told Elle, the courier I was talking about. The others... they don't know all of what happened.

[They know he lost a wife, but they don't know that he killed her himself. They don't know she was pregnant, either. He just... doesn't feel the need to tell them. He lifts his glass and drinks, then sets it down again.]

Hn. Told myself I wasn't gonna drink too much here.

[It's going to his head, he can feel it.]

We can be friends without drinking, I think. I will try to distract you instead. [He would rather help someone not drink if they didn't want to rather than lead them into a bad habit.]

[He starts fiddling with his mask. He almost forgot he had it on. He'd push it up like Niko, but his beret is in the way.]

So uh, you are wanting to do the desert thing. I could tell you where the teleporter office is. Is about the only way to get there easy from here.

Sure hope so. Had a hell of a bruise on my side for a while after the last time.

[He's getting used to Niko patting his shoulder by now, so he doesn't really react to it. They're friends now, so it's more or less okay.]

Still gotta figure out when I wanna head out, but yeah. I'm thinking soon. Maybe I'll just take a day off work so I can look around more.

If you go out alone, make sure it is very much in the day. At least in the desert you see creepers coming from a while off. They are still green, and it is harder to sneak up.

[Boone tries to imagine sand-coloured creepers with sandy sort of bodies instead of ones like dry leaves. He's glad that's not a thing, because they blend in way too well in the trees. It would just be unfair if they could blend into the desert too.]

Guess during the day I won't have to worry about spiders, too.

[He'll have to deal with the heat instead, but he plans on taking a lot of water and some food just incase. His beret does a good job of keeping the sun off his head, too.]

Seems safer than the Mojave, if it's only creepers I'm dealing with.

Spiders, too. But spiders do not care in the sun. You should be safe as long as you're there in the day. Just uh... don't go where it is dark. Three spiders in the dark can kill you pretty quick.

[Or one creeper. The fucking bastards.]

[He'll have to keep one eye out for creepers, but it shouldn't be too hard to spot them.]

[He doesn't see why the desert here would be littered with crumbling buildings and other debris. There was no nuclear war here. Still, it should be interesting to check it out. Maybe he could imagine what the Mojave was like before the war.]

[He doesn't intend to let any creepers get the jump on him out there. It's nice to know that Niko cares, though. He'd ask him if he wanted to come with him, but he probably has better things to do.]
