Oh yes. Very important. [He's not going to address the issue of not hurting anybody. It's true that the Celestial Intervention Agency avoids harming Gallifreyans (renegades excepted, but renegades are criminals and they deserve it). But other species? Not so much care is given to their wellbeing.]

The physics of this universe is different from those I know. Temporal technology doesn't work here, at least not any form of temporal tech I'm familiar with.

Shame 'bout that. It would be real helpful with findin' out what happened back at the fence. And it would be handy with lookin' out for spiders.

I couldn't cross my own timeline even if my temporal technology did work here. Going back in time to investigate the explosion at the fence, while my past self was also at the resort, would be extremely dangerous. The risk of meeting myself would be too high.

...An' what's wrong with meetin' yourself?

[Wouldn't that be twice the fun?]

Well, it can tear a hole in reality for one thing, cause the collapse of the universe if the contrary chronon particles impact each other in the wrong way.

Not to mention it's usually quite a blow to the ego. [There's nothing like meeting yourself to make you notice how weird the back of your head looks.]

[That is a lot of science that Wander has never heard of, but he gets the gist of it.]

Yeah...that doesn't sound too good.

[Maybe he needs to lighten the mood now.]

You still wanna go explorin' the place?

I'm not really much of an explorer. [Narvin is curious and wants to know everything, but he doesn't like putting himself in danger.]

I travel where I'm told to, or where I need to, but all things being equal, I'd rather be home in the Capitol.

It's okay. [Lots of people are content with staying in one place. Wander isn't exactly one of them.]

Travelin' for work sounds fun enough.

I don't do fun. [And he looks very serious as he says it.]

[Wander gives him a surprised look.]

How can you not do fun?

I just...don't. I by and large do not enjoy the things that are commonly deemed "jolly" or "risible." I am simply not a fun person.

[Then he mutters softly, mostly to himself.]

There's a reason my nickname at the Academy was Killjoy.

Then it looks like I need to teach you how to have fun. Ain't no fun bein' a grumpy grumperson!

[He tugs Narvin's hand.]

C'mon, let's start by visitin' all these stalls!

[Narvin once again looks at Wander like he's speaking an incomprehensible language.]

But I don't like spiders. Or shopping. Or people.

[Wander puts on his sad puppy eyes for Narvin.]
