[She waves in greeting and discreetly offers a steadying hand as he gets closer.]

Delightful. Have you seen the parades yet?

I have. I thought a giant shoe should also be part of the grand display along with the arachnids of prodigious size, and Nikkie judged it to be a corking idea, but alas, we were unable to carry it out.

But pardon me, where are my manners? [He briefly raises his hat in proper greeting.] Might I get you a drink?

Not a giant bare foot? [That's a joke he's not going to get, she realises as soon as she makes it.] A drink would be lovely, thank you. [The one that she's been nursing for the last hour is best suited for disposal in a potted plant by now.]

A giant unshod sole would not be ideal for squashing yon giant spiders, being of a rather soft and tender nature.

[Bertie waves down one of the resort servers who is working the party.]

[Una passes off her currenty glass to a server who is going around collecting empty glasses.

Have you seen any of the actual ones up close? They're quite a sight.
