Who: Grainne, Dr. Visscher, and anyone that wants to taste Grainne's cooking
What: Breakfast!
When: Month 12, Day 18
Where: Resort's dining area
Notes & Warnings: The food may either be a bit bland or over spiced.
Grainne had practiced vegetarian meals for a few days now, and even had a guinea pig on occasion. She thought the food she prepared smelled tasty so far, but as she set the table she glanced at all the prepared dishes and frowned once or twice.
It'd been years since she started trying to improve her cooking, and some days it felt impossible. She only hoped Dr. Visscher would be honest about her efforts. Perhaps she might have improved then if her entire life then hadn't been wrapped in lies, even the kindly meant ones.
Standing back, she looked over the setting, making sure it looked like it was supposed, and tried to fight off the stab of pain that came with those thoughts. Why were they always not far from her mind, even now?
Forcing them away with a vicious mental rush, she swallowed, pulled on her shirt and tried to smile. She had made enough to feed an army, it seemed like. Today was going to be a good day, with good company, and maybe she would start something worthwhile. Shared breakfasts had always been useful for a small community, a good time to bond and interact.
Maybe even someday, she could invite Inev for breakfast, too.
Cheered up somewhat, Grainne went about the last finishing touches.

Grainne was still finishing her cooking when he walked in, wearing a vest and his large hat replaced by a small concierge's one. "G'mornin', Grainne. You been working on all this?" He asks in amazement.

"Ya never had waffles?" he asks in disbelief. "But they're so good! Where'dya learn to make 'em?"

"Dish-" he manages to get out while chewing, "dish ish delicious!" He takes a moment to swallow and properly speak. "This here is good! Is this your first time cookin' it?"

"How so? Cookin's not so hard once you get the hang of it." He wipes the sauce off his mouth with a napkin. "Did Kay like it?"

Sorry for taking so long. I took a brain break for the weekend.
He showed up at the resort's dining area, checking the buttons at his wrist to make sure they were done up. He was dressed as formally as ever, and he had a seat across from her. "Sorry for the wait." He said, even though he wasn't even really late.

"When people get used to cooking one way, it's difficult to learn another. I reached a point where I didn't want to cause anything pain anymore."

Cooking was one thing she never perfected, but apple cider? That was a potion, no doubt about it, and a traditional drink still loved by the modern world.
"Here, I hope you like this. The recipe passed down from my mother and grandmother. I heard my grandmother say it was a favorite of..." Her enthusiastic telling of the history of the recipe suddenly flopped, as she realized he would probably not recognize any of the people or names. More tempered, she continued. "Of a great druid a long time ago."

"Who was the druid?" He asked, immediately able to tell she wanted to continue the story. He knew what it was like to cut a story short mid-sentence.

I'm so sorry for all the slow. I was trying to keep up on another plot.
Visscher suspected there was a much bigger story to it, but he always tended to do that. He wanted to believe every person was capable of grand things, even if they were sometimes forgotten by history books.
It seemed as though Grainne had committed it to heart.
