The Market Post
Who: Merchants and You
What: Open Market
When: M12 D14
Where: The Market
Notes & Warnings: Warnings will be in individual thread starters as players see fit. Here is the market OOC post.
The weather is starting to warm from the dead of winter, but it's still cool out. The morning in the market is foggy, too, so the warmer food is still getting a lot of attention. Soups and hot teas and cocoa (refined from the beans gathered in the planet's jungles).
After the recent efforts to clean up the town and the brief increased access to other universes, vendors there are a lot of vegetables brought in from that, too. This has been the first time in a long time there has been such a variety so take advantage of the displays. There are also people that have been trying out the potion samples here and there, doing things like attempting to set themselves on fire or inhale water. Luckily 99% of them are stopping when they're warned when their timer is running out.
There is the odd idiot that doesn't know how to hold his magic. Injuries won't be grave when they do happen, just incredibly stupid.
If anyone who helped investigate swamps wants to talk to travel agents about potential trips home, this is the chance to do it. Remember that you can also take visitors with you when the time comes around.

[The next spider he sees come out of the dark, he slams Boone's weapon down on. It's unwieldy, but it splats nicely.]
[He picks it up again.] These would be useful back home. I'll have to look into one. [And he gives it another shot, crushing another before returning the sledge to Boone.] Too bad the skeletons are armed, 'cause it'd probably work well on them.
no subject
[It really is too bad, though. The skeletons would likely fall to pieces with a single blow.]
Wouldn't really work on a creeper, either.
[Would it have a chance to explode before it got crushed? That's a risk Boone isn't willing to take.]

[It comes out and he shoots it. It freezes, ice-covered and in mid step.]
Probably could get close to them if I used one of those. Wanna get rid of that one.
no subject
That's a hell of a weapon.
[He wonders what else it can freeze. Would it stop a creeper from exploding?]

[He waits for something to come wandering out of the trees, and this time it's a creeper. He doesn't feel like waiting for it to get close enough to explode, so he fires at it from a distance and then looks over to Kay.]
Think I could get close?
[He's never gotten up close and personal with a creeper before. He likes to take them out long before they can come close enough to blow up.]
no subject
[And he starts to edge up on it. Slowly. Like he wants to be able to jump back if necessary.]
[If they're going to see what happens, might as well be careful about it.]

[He backs off quickly and it stops glowing.]
Well at least we got a way to stop them from waddling in at top speeds like they normally do.

[He was hoping to get a better look at it. He's never been able to get a good look at one after it dies, because it disintegrates. He's tried looking through his scope, but it's not really the same.]
Yeah, guess you're right. Still. Kinda wanted to check it out.
no subject
I don't get how they turn their heads all the way around like that. [It's pretty freaky, thinks the man whose seen almost everything.]
no subject
[Like how they explode.]
Wonder if we could ever catch one. Study it. Not really my thing, but I bet there's someone here who could learn a lot about them. Then we'd know what we're dealing with a little better.

[Rough languaged as he is, Kay is the thorough and researching type. Especially when it comes to narrowly analyzing potential threats.]
Guess we're shit out of luck for now, but maybe I can put in a few orders for these. I know the MiB doesn't just hand these out, so I'd have to have 'em come in and produce a few copies.
no subject
[Boone can't think of anything he could bring to help with that, but now that the topic has been brought up he's pretty interested in the idea. Maybe if they can figure out how to stop a creeper from exploding immediately, he can help to capture one.]
no subject
Maybe they just sorta come at people without really thinkin' about it. They don't seem much smarter than to be able to see and sorta aim themselves at openings, whether or not they can get in.
[He tucks the Icer back in its holster, and gets out his blaster instead.]
