Open!
Who: Dorian Carver and You?
What: A night at the Rising Sun.
When: As soon as the sunsets.
Where: The Rising Sun
Notes & Warnings: You can interact with Dorian or just have your own threads in the club with others! EVERYTHING GOES!
As soon as the sun had set Nina Simone's cover of House of the Rising Sun started to blast out of the sound system clear as crystal as the doors were proped open. The club was open to any and all with a simple set of rules by the door the biggest written on fancy text 'The Rule of Haven; All within will be given due respect, violence shall not be premitted inside the doors of the building.' It was one of the few Kindred Laws he still embraced.
Tonights drinks were half priced and the music was pumping everything was set to be fun and full of mischief. Everything in the club was fueled with black lights and made to look classy but fun. Dorian wanted to give the place a retro feel while still not pushing too far back in time. So he had found a compromise. Black lights and modern motif.
The owner himself was sitting at the bar in a red fur coat and black suit. He looked amused out at his club. He was drinking tea from a pretty tea cup just looking amused. Funny how he doesn't drink often but owns a bar.

Vokda, charming. Dorian was easily amused tonight. He's likely stoned but with him you can never tell.
"Ahh, yes I understand that feeling. I can say I have been here a couple weeks and so far the glimmer has not wore off."

He could be a little bitter, certainly, but cynical humor seemed to go well with the region.
"Sleepy Hollow, though. No, this is one I've never heard of. Maybe we have similar place where I'm from with a different name." He accepted his vodka when it came and threw back his drink.

"Most have only heard of it from a story written years ago, so do not worry. IT is a very small place." He explained smiling all the same. "Even in my world it has two names, it is truly called Tarrytown, but since the book was written everyone calls it Sleepy Hollow."

The hard edge ebbed from his tone, though, as he thought back. His father had been horrible, but he'd loved his village. He loved his mother and his aunt. He had a good brother. His friends were his support in tough times.
"It was home. It was cold, up in the Balkan mountains. When I was very young we had only plumbing, but not electricity. We were farmers, and we had a rich cultural heritage. We had ceremonies for everything, every holiday.
"I don't think any good books are written about us. Nikola Tesla- he is also a Serb, like me. Actually my name is also Nikola, but everyone calls me Niko."

"We had neither when I was a boy, so I do understand. though I always feel that such things are not needed for good memories."

And besides that, Niko's English wouldn't have clued him in immediately anyway. But he still looked pleased that the name of a national hero was recognized over the brutality of a senseless war. "Well, I don't know if named after. Is a pretty common name. I was just telling a friend here that I had a friend named Dragan. You would think it was an impressive masculine name in English, but is a fairly common men's name that means 'Precious'."
He was also pleased to meet more people that seemed relatively modern, but didn't have all the amenities of modern life growing up- if he only knew.
