Who: Jade, Una, and Ben
What: Investigating the subterranean library (Ben almost getting himself killed). Two starters in the comments.
When: First week of january
Where: Underground. Very underground
Notes & Warnings: Description of swarming insects.
It's not as clear-cut as anyone would like, finding their way down through Quadratus' natural caves to the building-like structures detected on sonar. But the miserable, dark, damp trek pays off quite suddenly, as rough natural cavities give way to hewn stone, the mildewed of remains of what look like benches or shelves-- and those dot the way to a door.
Through the door, now, there's the surprise.
Their torches shine in on an untouched library, thick with dust-- but dry, and full of ancient books still preserved enough to make out the text-- an ancient and untranslated script.
